The book, Wisdom of the Ants: Practical lessons for victorious living, reflects the life of the ant as an exemplification of the wisdom of foreseeing the future. Klaas Moswane uses the forward-thinking nature of the ants to demonstrate the prudence of preparing and making adequate provision for the future. The author shows how we can avert future adversity by observing the ant, as it stocks up during seasons of plenty for seasons of scarcity. Additionally, he draws a parallel between the ant and the biblical character of Joseph, in the book of Genesis 41, and narrates how he assisted Pharon to prepare for a future lean season during a time of abundance. The lessons to be learnt here is the importance of taking advantage of times when conditions are favourable by making the best use of those prevailing opportunities and using them to prepare for the possible future unfavourable periods.
